Description
The focus of this Special Education Teacher Networking will be behavior and will focus on both technical and adaptive skills development as connected to a student you serve:
- Problem of practice and problem-solving (specific to student behavioral needs)
- IEP documentation (special factors, disability-related needs, goals, services)
- Application (what to teach, strategies, practices, tools)
We feel that connecting mindset, practices, and IEP development, will bring this process full circle as you support students with neurodiverse needs in your classrooms.
Agenda:
- 8:45 am - 3:00 pm
- Lunch provided
- Katie Berg will join the group in-person for the morning to support teaching about regulation aligned with behavior. There will be time for grade-alike teams to problem-solve to unpack problems/needs of practice to understand how to better serve students who may be most challenging.
- The afternoon will focus on specific linkages to the CCR IEP process. We will use the 5-step chart to guide IEP writing specific to behaviors (SEL) needs and how it links from the present level to services. Participants will be given time to problem-solve and apply this topic to their own IEPs.
- We encourage you to send teams as Katie will be here with our team. The SNS event with Katie on March 18th has been canceled due to low enrollment. This event will be replacing 3/18, as she supports teams with learning.
